Seven years and nine hundred million miles, and how do they describe Titan’s surface? Squishy.

So how do you write a letter to your dying mother — a letter which both you and she know is basically a goodbye?

Do you tell her how it hurts you to hear the sadness and fatigue in her voice when you talk to her? Do you tell her you see her in her grandchildren, when she is broken-hearted knowing they’re not going to remember her? Do you tell her she’s part of you, when she’s a part of you that’s going to be gone forever? Do you tell her you’re grateful to her for giving you your life, when she’s about to lose hers? And do you tell her you love her, when the word is used a billion times a day and can’t possibly sum up the way a son feels about his mother?

Just wondering.
