Today is not the first time my eldest has asked me about meaning and contentment in life, and it probably won’t be the last. He’s approaching eighteen and finds his workload increasing and free time decreasing, so he’s starting to grapple with the things we grapple with as adults. But I do my best and tell him it’s mostly in the doing but we also need ways to find it in the being, and he seems to feel better.
