Daylight low tides and sunsets at Karioitahi Beach / Hamilton’s Gap:

Wed 3 May — low tide 2.28 pm, sunset 5.34 pm. SAR & police teams searched the beaches north & south of Hamilton’s Gap
Thu 4 May — low tide 3.04 pm, sunset 5.33 pm. We walked the beach north and south of Hamilton’s Gap, pretty sure there were no SAR ground searches or flyovers

Hamilton’s Gap is north of Waiuku on Awhitu Rd. Just north of Pollok, turn left onto West Coast Rd and follow to end carpark. Takes about 35 min from Waiuku.
